Sega Rally Championship first came out on the PC about 4 years ago and bearing this in mind you would think that the game wouldn't appeal to today's gamers. However, if you're looking for a good arcade racer that will run on a low spec PC without the benefit of a 3d card then SRC may your game. In turns of options there isn't too many. There are only 2 cars available (if you discount the fact that a car with automatic gears instead of manual gears is a different car) at the start of the game and a couple more can be unlocked later in the game. There is an arcade mode, a time attack mode, a 2-player mode and a link mode. The link mode enables you to play someone else across a SPX/IPX or TCP/IP network (including the Internet). You can also use a gamepad with SRC for that true console feel. The graphics are OK but what really counts is that the handling is spot on for an arcade racer and the chance to play someone else over a network (even Internet play will only require an average modem) must make this a recommended title for fans of arcade driving games.
