Rainbow Six was the first true shoot 'em up that required tactics and stealth as well as the ability to wield a mouse cursor with pinpoint accuracy. This fictitious SAS clone was massively popular and even today, several years on from its first release it is still very popular online.

Excellent the game maybe but as a deaf gamer you'll be in for a rough ride as communication between you and your men/women is not relayed in text and you feel isolated as a result. There is also no indication of approaching or nearby terrorists, so you will have to be particularly careful. The introduction also has no subtitles. The only part of the game that will textually inform you is the mission briefings and the tactical planning screen. This is a shame because it makes an excellent game into a slightly frustrating one.

Graphically the game doesn't look too bad even though it's a few years old. The game doesn't demand a high specification PC so most people will be able to run the game just fine without any problems. The missions are highly varied and locations range from the Taj Mahal to Big Ben. The addition of the Eagle Watch mission pack is a great bonus.

If tactical shoot 'em ups are your thing then you will love Rainbow Six but be warned the difficulty is far greater for a deaf gamer so be prepared for some frustration particularly as there is no in-mission save feature.

Recommendation: Hard to recommend. Only for the dedicated.
Suitability for deaf gamers:
Not really suitable for deaf gamers unless you like it difficult.
