Incoming Forces

Published by Sold Out Software
Developed by Rage Software
Platform: PC CD-ROM
Released - Out Now
Price : £4.99

If you bought a PC graphics card around 1998 & 1999 the chances are you have probably played Incoming as it was bundled with virtually every graphics card around that time. The reason for this is that Rage Software were brilliant at creating software that, visually speaking, was far in advance of other software and thus was excellent for showing you what your new graphics card was capable of.

Incoming Forces is the sequel to Incoming. In Incoming Forces the roles are reversed and you now control the Aliens as they bid to defeat the human forces. The game contains 16 missions with plenty of secondary objectives to give you plenty to do. Today it no longer looks visually impressive but it still offers a lot of enjoyment and you get to control a variety of vehicles including tanks and futuristic aircraft. The game uses a FPS control system too which makes it all the more comfortable to control.

I was surprised to find that Incoming Forces is fully subtitled, cutscenes and tutorial messages. The text is quite large, even at higher resolutions. You can even recall the last given message, if you need to, by pressing the Y key.

Recommendation: It no longer looks anything special but considering the asking price and the fact that it's very easy to get into, Incoming Forces is worth giving a try.

Suitability for deaf gamers: No problems at all. Everything is subtitled by default.

Overall Game Rating: 3.0/5
