Kingpin Life of Crime Published
by Sold Out Software Not many titles have caused the controversy that Kingpin Life of Crime caused upon it's release. The fact that the game carried an age rating of 18 didn't prepare the gamer for the language and brutality that this game offered. Even to this day no game has been quite so explicit in both it's language and violence. In the game's defense though it does come with a password protected (passworded to prevent reinstallation and selecting the full gore/language option) low violence option so if you like FPS action but not so strong, this will be the option for you. The game is violent to the core and it comes as no surprise that what needs to be done is to find the Kingpin and give him a good hiding (for want of a better word). The censored version has no blood but you still have to dish out some serious violence in order to progress in the game. If this offends you then you'd be better off giving Kingpin a wide berth. Graphically the game looks out of date. The character models have a kind of ripple about them that makes them difficult to look at for long periods. The buildings don't have this problem/feature though. On any modern PC the game will fly though on virtually any resolution which is always a plus. Of course there is another reason to give Kingpin a miss and that is that it is completely useless for deaf gamers. There are very few subtitles in the game and those that are there are stuck in the top left of the screen and are difficult to read because of the font that has been used. The options menu has an option for captions but even with this on most of the game is unsubtitled. Recommendation:
Not Recommended. Not really suitable for deaf gamers. Overall Game Rating: 1.5/5 |
