Out
of all the possible topics you could pick to base a computer game
on, one of the most disgusting has to be that of football (soccer
if you're in the US) violence. The very idea of a gang of men getting
wasted on booze before heading out on an unsuspecting city for a
night of violence is completely shocking. It's not something that
is consigned to the past either. Even recently the F. A. has been
threatened that if there is one more incident involving English
fans then England will be kicked out of Euro 2004.
The
game is laughingly labeled as a RTS. You control a gang of nutcases
and you have to loot shops, destroy public scenery and of course,
ruin football matches. Take over a pub and you can bribe local supporters
to aid you in your destruction. The game even lets you cause a season's
(of European matches) worth of destruction if you want or you could
just opt for a riot. As a game it stinks, even if you ignore the
theme of the game. It's not difficult to see why if failed so spectacularly
when it was released last year. The graphics look years out of date
and the gameplay is no fun at all.
Everything
is subtitled, barring the idiotic shouts from your team of nutcases
and unit confirmations. It's almost a shame that the subtitles do
exist as the language is shocking and definitely deserving of an
18 rating from the BBFC. Keep hold of your £5 and look at
some of the class games that Sold Out Software offer. This is utter
cack.
Recommendation:
Don't touch it with a barge pole.
Suitability for deaf gamers: OK. Virtually everything is
subtitled but why opt for this disgusting excuse for a game when
you can buy much, much better for £5.
