Expendable

Published by Sold Out Software
Developed by Rage Software
Platform: PC CD-ROM
Released - Out Now
Price : £4.99

This was one of those titles that came bundled with every new graphics card back in 1999. Expendable, unlike a lot of other bundled titles, was actually a good game though. It's basically an arcade style blast 'em up that's filled to the brim with none stop action. The combination of the great blasting action and the previously unseen graphical beauty made this a title to remember.

Back when Expendable was released it bought most PCs to a grinding halt when the resolution and details were turned to their highest. Today though it's possible to turn the screen resolution, game details and effects right up to the maximum without taking a performance hit. Rage had a habit of creating fantastically good looking games and despite the games' age this still looks good.

There are no problems at all with Expendable for deaf gamers. All information is given in text. I haven't played all the way through the game but as I far as I know there is no speech or any crucial noises. All objectives appear in text so you'll be able to enjoy this very original game.

Recommendation: If you're looking for a great arcade style blaster with some challenging boss fights then you should look no further than Expendable.

Suitability for deaf gamers: All info is given in text so there's no problems at all.

Overall Game Rating: 4.0/5
