Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack PC

It would be unfair to label Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack as an expansion pack for Spore. In actual fact it's similar to the 'Stuff' packs that have been released for The Sims 2. You aren't going to find any game changing features here but those who just can't get enough of Spore might appreciate what it has to offer. Those who haven't played the game in a while will have no interest in what is essentially a content booster that offers no change to the overall game experience and it has no effect on the deaf gamer friendliness of Spore.
So what are you getting for just under £10 then? Well the Creepy & Cute Parts Pack adds 60 creature parts to allow you to give your creatures a different look. The parts have been divided into two themes. There's the almost cutesy cartoon creature parts and the creepy, monster-like parts. In addition to the parts, 24 new animations have been added and to complete the new look you'll have a choice of 48 new paint styles. When creating your creatures you can either view all of the parts or switch between 'Core Spore' and Creepy & Cute'. You will need the Creepy & Cute Parts Pack if you're hoping to import creatures others have made which use material from the pack.
Having the ability to add different mouths, eyes and other details to your creatures is certainly pleasing but the real question is, is it worth almost £10 of your hard earned cash? Unless you're a Spore addict the answer is no. Being able to give your creatures a different look with some new animations is something that only those who love Spore will appreciate. The pack doesn't offer any new ways of playing the game and no game changing features. In short it will do nothing to revitalise your interest in Spore if it has already faded. One of the main complaints I had with Spore is that, unlike The Sims series, the replay value was questionable. Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack does nothing to add replay value to the game. Let's hope that next year's expansion pack does.
